Area Overview

The BS in History, Secondary Education program, in partnership with the public schools, provides comprehensive social studies experiences that involve clinical school experiences.

The program is committed to the preparation of teachers who are knowledgeable and reflective practitioners, technologically proficient, and skilled in meeting the needs of a diverse student population. History education majors pursue a double major: a BS in History, Secondary Education and a BS in History. In partnership with local public schools, our program provides comprehensive History education under the supervision of highly qualified clinical teachers.

The program also supports two graduate degrees: the Master of Arts in Teaching in History Education and the Master of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in History Education.
