Amanda Blakely named first North Carolina Student Teacher of the Year

Amanda Blakely, 2016 ECU Graduate in Birth-Kindergarten, was named the first North Carolina Student Teacher of the Year by North Carolina Association for Colleges and Teacher Educators (NC-ACTE) at their Fall forum on September 21 in Raleigh, NC. The NC-ACTE is the organization that unites teacher educators in both public and private colleges and universities, staff and faculty in state created initiatives and consortia, and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, according to their website. ECU College of Education honors scholarship recipients and donors

More than 100 students in East Carolina University’s College of Education have received a record amount of scholarship support for the upcoming academic year. This year, more than $550,000 in merit and need-based scholarships was distributed to 106 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education students. Alana Zambone and Christopher Rivera, hosted the Assistive Technology (AT) Summer Institute during the week of July 18-22, 2016. Glenesha Berryman named Outstanding First-Year Student by Phi Kappa Phi

Glenesha Berryman, an EC Scholar and member of the Honors College, has been recognized by the ECU Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi national honor society, as the Outstanding First-Year Student for 2015-2016. She was awarded a plaque and a check for $500 from the chapter at the annual initiation ceremony on Sunday, April 11, 2016. Berryman is from a military family and the first in her family to attend college. She made the journey to ECU from Seoul, South Korea, where she finished high school. Continue reading →
