Project INTERSECT (Interactive STEM Education Competence in Teaching), a a $599,939 NSF grant, will address the nature and role of discipline-specific discourse in the classroom. The goal of the project is to explore how training with immersive classroom simulation activities affect the ability of ECU math and science teacher candidates use of discourse as a means of instruction.

The Social Work program is teaming up with the College of Education to provide Master in Social Work students an opportunity to counsel teenagers with addicted parents in a simulated environment using Mursion

There are many ways you can get involved with Mursion depending on where you are and what your role is.
As an ECU Faculty member, you can use the Mursion lab simulator with your class. We focus a lot on its use in education, but it can also be used with a different cast of characters for Business, Hospitality Management, Medical Office Management, and Counseling among others. If you belong to another college or university, we would love to work with you to see how we might provide the same services mentioned above for our faculty to you. In addition to faculty using Mursion for classes, it can also be used to give students an opportunity to practice interview skills and other soft skills that may otherwise be neglected.
