Outlook - Set up Exchange Account


How to set up your staff or faculty Exchange account

(These directions assume you are connected to the internet before you start these steps.)


STEP 1:

Open Outlook. Go to Tools > Accounts.

STEP 2:

Click on the "+" symbol and select Exchange...

STEP 3:

Fill in the spaces in red, replacing your email address, pirateied and password where indicated. Click on Add Account.

Fill in the spaces in red, replacing First, Last and PirateID where indicated.

Click on the Advanced button.


STEP 4:

Set the following if they are not already:

  • Set the Microsoft Exchange Server as: https://piratemail.ecu.edu/EWS/Exchange.asmx
    • Turn on "Use SSL to connect"
  • Set the Directory Service server as: firstmate.ecu.edu
    • Turn on "Use SSL to connect" and "Log in with my Exchange account credentials"

Outlook Advanced Settings

STEP 5:

Click the OK button and exit the account window. Email should begin to download immediately.
