Location in Joyner Library

The Verona Joyner Langford North Carolina Collection is located on the Third Floor of Joyner Library's "Drum" section. The reading room for the Manuscripts and Rare Books Department and University Archives is on the Fourth Floor. This is accessible from the elevator located on the Third Floor, near the entrance to the North Carolina Collection.

Registration and Requests

Patrons are encouraged to register online before coming to the Manuscripts and Rare Books Department. By registering online, patrons will be able to request material in advance, manage their personal information at any time, and keep track of their requests. Patrons can do this by going to this link

Visitor Parking

There are several parking options available to visitors:

For short term parking, visitors are welcome to utilize the limited spaces at any of the 5 Pay by Space Stations on main campus, which are located in the following areas:

  • On College Hill north of Scott Residence hall - (10 spaces)
  • East of the Rivers Building - (13 spaces)
  • At the corner of 5th Street and Harding St. - (43 spaces) 
  • In the lot in between Jenkins Fine Arts and the Garret Residence hall - (13 spaces) 
  • In the lot beside the Umstead Residence hall off 10th Street - (34 spaces) 

For longer term parking, parking permits are available at the ECU Department of Parking and Transportation Services office, located at 305 E. Tenth Street next to McDonald's. These may be purchased Monday through Friday, 7:30 am until 4:30 pm. The permits allow visitors to park only in the B1 and B3 zones on campus and at Minges Coliseum. Visitors who choose to park at Minges Coliseum can take one of the shuttle buses to the library. The buses run on a variable schedule to and from the library between 7:00 am and 6:45 pm weekdays. The permits cost $5.00 per day and $10.00 a week. There is no charge for parking on Saturday or Sunday.
