All first time students are invited to fall convocation in Minges Coliseum where you are officially welcomed to East Carolina University.  The purpose of this event is to foster community building traditions, student involvement and campus commitment.  As part of the official welcome, students will begin to build a group identity or community among members of the entering class; understand the institution’s mission and expectations; and hear presentations from the Chancellor and a keynote speaker. The new student welcome and convocation is capped off with a spirited pep rally led by the Athletic Director, ECU’s coaches, Marching Band, Cheerleaders and Dance team.
