Engineering Prospective Students

Why ECU is a Great Place to Study Engineering:

  • Small Classes - Taught by Faculty

Engineering is a demanding profession, and the process of completing a BS in engineering requires commitment and hard work.  In ECU's engineering program, we believe that the highest rates of student success are achieved when faculty are involved with students and know them by name.  This focus begins with freshman year.

  • Collaborative Learning

To promote personal growth and academic success, we encourage ECU engineers to study and learn with their fellow students.  This begins with the first semester, with team based assignments and the ECU Engineering Learning Community.

  • Activity-Based Learning

Most engineering programs focus on theory with little hands-on practice.  ECU engineers, however, learn the special theoretical skills of engineering closely coupled with projects, laboratories, and hands-on activities.

  • Project Management and Team Skills

ECU engineers also develop essential career skills in project management, entrepreneurship, and teamwork.
