ITCS provides account services for a number of applications and services that students and employees require access to on a daily basis. Find information here on how to create new accounts, find support for account maintenance, and information about what happens to your accounts when you leave ECU.
Accounts are managed according to the Academic Computer Use Policy and the Student and Employee Computer Use Policy.
Supervisors should request and transfer work-related data files from exiting employees before their last day.
Faculty, staff and students are assigned a unique ECU identification number for administrative purposes and not account access.
New users must create a strong passphrase when they activate their new PirateID. Thereafter, the passphrase is changed every 90 days through the Passphrase Maintenance Portal.
Information on ways newly-hired faculty are added to the ECU system.
Students should check this "To Do" list before graduation.
Newly-hired faculty/staff and newly-admitted students receive a username, or PirateID, which is activated through the Passphrase Maintenance Portal.
Upon retirement, faculty and staff may retain some ECU accounts, such as email, Web space, and Self-Service Banner.
