ECU baseball team visits Children's Hospital

Members of the East Carolina University baseball team dropped by Vidant Children's Hospital May 30 to visit with children and share signed baseballs and posters of the team. The visit was part of ongoing community service and outreach encouraged by coach Billy Godwin.

The Pirates headed out soon after for Game 1 of the 2012 NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, where they will face St. John's at 1 p.m. June 1. This is the team's 26th NCAA Regional appearance. The Pirates were selected as a No. 2 seed for the competition, where four teams play a double-elimination format. Also competing are UNC-Chapel Hill and Cornell.
